INSPIRARE Debut Magazine Launch

I'm excited to finally post the photos from an editorial I shot with INSPIRARE last winter.  This was for their debut magazine launch - you can view the issue here! We had an amazing team for the day, and it was a pleasure shooting with such talented people. :)

Revelry and merrymaking in Český Krumlov!

A couple weekends ago CET took all of the abroad students on a weekend trip to a little town about 3 hours away from Praha called Český Krumlov.  The only way I could possibly describe Český Krumlov is that it looked exactly like a winter fairytale.  It was beautiful, quaint, and a much needed break from the bigger city life I've grown accustom to, both in San Francisco and Prague.
The town resembled a smaller, older, more authentic version of Prague. Where cars were barely existent and every cobblestone path was covered in white powder.  CET had a day filled with museum visits and other tourist activities planned for us, while also leaving us a lot of free time to explore on our own, which was awesome.
(Jeff, Kacey, & I)
On the first day, we stopped at a local Czech resturaunt for some traditional Czech food. It was so delicious and cheap!  I don't think I will ever be able to get over how inexpensive everything is here in the Czech Republic.  I mean I can buy a week's worth of vegetable and groceries for under $10! It's great, we cook all the time and not to mention drinking is amazingly inexpensive as well!
Jeff and his 30Kc pivo! ($1.55 beer)
Love these ladies!
Roomies (minus Lenka!)
Hot chocolate, and by that I mean, literally pure, hot, melted chocolate. So good, but so bad!
 Sophia!
Tried hot wine for the first time. And being an avid tea lover, this definitely hit the spot.
Hotel Mlyn! The cute hotel CET booked for all of us.
The view from our hotel room.
I loved this little Český Krumlov weekend getaway, it was great to experience another side of the Czech Republic that I would have never even known existed. Even though it was only a couple weeks ago, I feel like so much has happened since then. And I can't wait to share my latest adventures! I am hoping to post our spontaneous trip to Berlin, more Praha day ventures, and last friday's shoot with Hana Pekarova from Clique Models very soon!

Photo shoot | CET Lighting Seminar with Hana Abrahámová

Model: Hana Abrahamova

Last Friday the CET photography students got to participate in a portraiture/lighting seminar. And by CET photo students, I really mean myself, Rachel, and Chris - since we are the only ones in the whole department.  At first, I thought this was extremely odd, only having 2 other people in your classes, but I've grown to like it a lot.  Since there are so few of us, we have more say in what we want to do in classes and in our workshops/seminars.  Plus we get a chance to know our professors and the photographers that come in to teach us on a more personal level.

The lighting seminar was very informal and fun, our teacher - Honza, allowed us to work freely with the model and helped out with lighting.  It was nice to have an unstructured learning environment rather than listening to a professor lecture about lighting techniques. For the day, Rachel was able to book a professional model, Hana Abrahamova, through an agency - Czechoslovak Models. Which made the day shooting so much smoother (THANK YOU Rachel!!). Overall, it was a great day and I can't wait for our next shooting seminar this friday. :)
